Catacan Pro Audio and Computers Canada - News May 01/08 CLAVIA DIGITAL MUSIC IINSTRUMENTS was founded in 1983 as a manufacturer of digital drums. In 1995, hardware designer Hans Nordelius (pictured at left with software designer Magnus Kjellander) created the Nord Lead, the first virtual analog synthesizer. The next 4 years brought the Lead 2, the Nord Modular, and the Lead 3 advanced subtractive synth. In 2001, Clavia introduced the Nord Electro, a virtual electromechanical keyboard that featured vintage electric piano and organ sounds. Since, Clavia has produced more electromechanical instruments (Stage, C1 Organ) and synthesizers (Modular G2, Wave). All Clavia electronic products are assembled and thoroughly tested in Stockholm, Sweden by their production staff. Now celerating their 25th Anniversary, Clavia is a rapidly growing company. Clavia’s mission is a simple one - to create the finest performance keyboard instruments available, by emulating vintage synthesizers, electric pianos, and organs in a manner that takes into account practical performance features, ergonomic design, stage-worthiness, maximum flexibility, and (most importantly) rich, professional sound.
